300-yard range, three ways to train, DryTek waterproofing — SportDOG quality at a yard-trainer price

The YardTrainer 300 is SportDOG’s answer to a straightforward question: what does a compact, no-fuss training collar look like when it’s built to the same standards as a field-grade system? The YT-300 packs DryTek waterproofing, lithium-ion batteries, and a no-look dial into a transmitter small enough to carry on a lanyard. At 300 yards of range it covers most backyard and park training scenarios, plus gives you enough reach to address problems at a distance before they become habits. The soft-coat transmitter finish is comfortable in hand, the controls are intuitive without looking down, and the whole system is submersible to 25 feet — so rain, creek crossings, and wet grass are non-events.

Training options on the YT-300 are continuous stimulation, momentary stimulation, vibration, and tone — all accessible from the dial without switching modes. Seven static stimulation levels cover a wide range of dog sensitivities, and SportDOG builds in a useful adjustment: if level 1 is too high for a soft dog, or level 7 isn’t enough for a high-drive dog, you can switch the collar between low and medium stimulation ranges via the operation manual. That effectively doubles your working range without adding complexity to the transmitter. The 2-hour quick charge puts 50–70 hours of use back in the batteries, and a low battery indicator on both the transmitter and receiver means you won’t get caught short in the field.

The YT-300 is a single-dog-only system — it is not expandable to additional collars. It fits dogs 8 pounds and up with neck sizes between 5” and 22”. If you need more range or multi-dog capability, see the FieldTrainer 425X at 500 yards with 3-dog support, or the SportTrainer 575 with an OLED display and 2-dog capability.

Customer Reviews
Perfect for my shelter pup!
This collars works amazingly well on my Shepard mix. She had a bit of an issue not coming back to me when called when off leash. Now she comes back every time. I love my little girl. Thank you for a great collar! ()
Excellent product.
I'll give it a five star. It works very well. ()
Great Product!
I own a 90 pound Labradoodle. He's five years old and lacked some simple obedience. Once I put the SportDOB YardTrainer 350 on him, along with some good/fun training, he changed into a different dog within a week. I also like the fact that I never had to turn my training collar past level 2. He took to it quickly without having to use a higher level of stimulation. I appreciate the ability to use the continuous or nick feature, depending on the issue. I would recommend this collar for town dogs who don't need a larger mile radius collar. Great product. ()
Works as advertised so far
I've only had for a month but it seems to operate as advertised. I haven't had to recharge yet. My golden retriever definitely listens better off leash now. ()
Awesome product.
I don't hunt but I do run in the forest and on the beach, and this product allows me to give a gentle reminder for my dog to listen to me. It also holds a great, long charge. It's worth the money. ()
The SportDOG YardTrainer 350 is everything we had hoped for!
Our family and Bentley our 5 year old, 95 lb, AKC, Black Lab love the SportDOG YardTrainer 350! It's everything we had hoped for! ()
Love the product well designed
I wish the collar was nylon rather than the regular one I have a five-month-old AKC golden the rubber colar is difficult to get on and off ()
Sport DOG to the Rescue
We have two Labradors, Sam & Scout. Sam is six months, and we have had him since he was a pup. We just got Scout who is one year. Sam is about the same size as our new boy and can be quite rough and stubborn. We have used the trainer inside and out to prevent Sam from grabbing on or body slamming Scout. Sam has double the normal spikes in his Invisible Fence collar, and will still take the shock if he is running after Scout. Scout is learning the fence, and if he goes too far and does not respond to "come" we give him a little zap and up the hill he comes. This is a great training tool and believe me, with two young labs on 8 acres we need the help. We are so pleased we just ordered our second devise as trading off gets difficult. I highly recommend the SportDog YardTrainer. Our invisible fence instructor does, too. ()
Great Purchase!
We purchased the YardTrainer 350 and it's been working great. ()
This Works :)
We have a puppy that is actually quite large and throws his weight around. He has established some bad habit with playing too rough with our other dog. This collar set at a low setting helps to just distract him enough to make him stop. He is now starting to respond to just a verbal no. We still have a LOT of work to be done with him without the use of the collar, but it has helped tremendously. Worth the money. I just am careful to keep it at a low setting and only use it when he needs the extra command along with the verbal command. ()
An excellent collar for around the yard
I picked up this collar about a month ago, and use it on our golden retriever. It's been the best e-collar I've used, and is priced well also. The range is a little short if you're taking your dog out on a walk with a lot of room for him to run, but it works perfect for our needs in our back yard. ()
