The SportTrainer 575 — the OLED screen that makes multi-dog hunting easier
The 575 sits between the compact 425X and the longer-range 825X in the SportDOG lineup, and its defining feature is the OLED display. The SportTrainer family carries the industry’s largest OLED screen — dim enough not to blind you on a dark November morning, bright enough to read clearly on a high-noon October afternoon. It shows you the selected dog, your stimulation level, and battery status at a single glance. Combined with dedicated Dog 1 and Dog 2 buttons on the remote, it makes managing two dogs in the field as straightforward as any SportDOG system gets.
The 575 offers 10 levels of both continuous and momentary static stimulation, plus vibration and tone. If the lowest level is too high for a sensitive dog or the highest isn’t enough, the stimulation range can be adjusted on the collar to shift the entire range to low or medium. Button functions can also be customized to suit your training preferences. Range is 500 yards, the same as the 425X — the upgrade here is the screen, the two-dog interface, and the 20–40 hour transmitter battery life. Both collar and transmitter use DryTek® technology and are waterproof and submersible to 25 feet.
The 575 expands to 2 dogs with the addition of a SportDOG Add-A-Dog collar receiver — compatible with the SDR-AXF (for standard 425X/825X) and SDR-AXS (for 425XS stubborn dog version). The transmitter ships locked to single-dog operation; see the operating manual to unlock multi-dog mode.
575 vs. 425X: Both cover 500 yards and suit close-working dogs. The 575 adds the OLED display, dedicated Dog 1/Dog 2 buttons, and a longer-life transmitter battery — worth the step up if you regularly run two dogs or hunt in low-light conditions. If you run a single dog and don’t need the screen, the 425X is the simpler choice.
