Standard bark collars are designed around medium and large dogs. Their receivers are sized and weighted for a Lab or a Shepherd, and on a small breed they sit awkwardly, spin on the collar strap, and deliver stimulation calibrated for a dog two or three times the size. The NanoBark is PetSafe’s answer to that problem — a bark collar built from scratch for small dogs, with a receiver roughly the size and weight of a smartwatch (1.4 oz). The low-profile module sits flush against the neck rather than jutting out, which matters on a 10-pound dog.
How Perfect Bark® technology works
Most bark collars use a single detection method — either vibration (feeling the throat) or sound (hearing the bark). Either method alone can produce false corrections from outside noise or movement. Perfect Bark® uses both sensors simultaneously: the collar only fires when it detects both the vibration of your dog’s vocal cords and the sound of a bark at the same time. A passing truck or a neighbor’s dog won’t trigger it on its own. Over time the system also adapts to your individual dog’s bark signature rather than relying on a fixed threshold.
Corrections start at level 1 and step up automatically if barking continues, then reset back to level 1 after a period of quiet. A built-in safety shutoff stops corrections after 15 seconds of continuous activation to prevent over-correction. The collar will not be triggered by another dog’s bark — useful if you have multiple dogs or train in group settings.
Fit note: Measure your dog’s neck circumference with a flexible tape measure before ordering. The NanoBark fits necks between 6” and 13” only. It is designed for dogs 3–25 lbs. For dogs over 25 lbs with larger necks, see PetSafe’s standard bark collar lineup.

We have a one yr old Chiweenie who is cute as can be, but is s "tapper". We tried another brand, but it was too heavy and spun around her neck. This collar is small, light AND it has worked like a charm!!! It is also very easy to recharge.. Her litter mate brother is larger and still has the larger collar. Works perfectly! I was initially concerned about the weight of a e-collar on her, but she has no problem carrying it and it doesn't get in her way while she runs around the house.
