I wish the description were clearer. I bought the version with the remote receiver so that i could use with an existing remote, but i also wanted to use it manually with a pull string (long story). Unfortunately, the wire that connects the actuator on the remote mechanism causing binding when the release lever is activated manually. I had to improvise the connecting wire to be able to use the launcher in both ways. (7/14/2022)- Over all good product.By:Song Her
I bought 2 of these and was able to program the second one with ease. I wasnt too far from it so I really can't say on the range but from where I was about 15 yards out it worked fine. My only thing is that I thought it would launch the bird higher but it only launched the bird about 5 feet up in the air. Other than that, it worked well. and my dogs were able to smell the birds.
