Train and track from one unit — the PRO 550 Plus with GPS

The PRO 550 Plus takes the PRO 550 platform — the same tube-style one-handed interface, the same 18 stimulation levels across Low, Medium, and High, the same vibration and tone — and adds GPS tracking through a TT15X collar. The result is a single unit that trains and tracks simultaneously without switching devices. The same unit you key for corrections shows you where your dogs are and which direction they’re moving. If you’ve wanted the familiarity of a Tri-Tronics wand with the tracking capability of the Alpha, this is that system.

Simple, customized training

The PRO 550 Plus trains up to 3 dogs using 18 levels of continuous and momentary stimulation, tone, and vibration. The stimulation and vibrate selection dial sits at the top of the transmitter — same position as the PRO 550, same one-handed operation. Use the dog switch to select a dog for on-the-spot training and to simultaneously check its location on the display. The Low/Med/High structure at each of the six dial positions gives you the resolution to dial in a working level for any dog without jumping between too soft and too strong. Tone has its own dedicated button; corrections don’t require a mode change to deliver.

Keep up with your pack

When your dogs are on the move, a glance at the built-in display shows direction of travel and distance from your position. The PRO 550 Plus uses both GPS and GLONASS satellite reception with a 2.5-second update rate — fast enough to follow dogs at hunting speed without position going stale between checks. The display shows a directional arrow, distance, compass north, and dog status icons indicating whether a dog is on point or treed. You don’t need a separate GPS handset. The tracking is built into the training remote you’re already holding.

The system ships with a TT15X collar, which handles both training and tracking from the same receiver. T5, T5 Mini, and T5X collars pair for tracking only. Built to go the distance

The tube-shaped PRO Series handheld operates the same way it always has — one-handed, no-look, eyes on the dogs. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery lasts up to 24 hours on the handheld and up to 40 hours on the TT15X collar, covering a full day of hunting and training without a charge stop. The handheld is rated IPX7 waterproof and floats. The TT15X collar is rated to 1 ATM. Both units are built to handle the blows, mud, and wet conditions that come with daily field use. A battery life indicator on both units tells you when to recharge.

PRO 550 Plus vs. PRO 550: The standard PRO 550 is a training-only system with 1-mile range and no display. The PRO 550 Plus adds GPS tracking, extends range to over 2 miles, and puts directional dog location on an onboard display. If you train in a controlled environment with eyes on the dogs at all times, the standard 550 is the better value. If you board dogs, run large properties, or hunt in cover where you can’t always see the dog, the Plus is the right system.
