Jump and Rise — two stimulation modes found nowhere else

The SPT 2420 offers two stimulation modes that set it apart from every other collar in this category. Jump stimulation lets you pre-program a second intensity level independent of your working dial position and jump instantly to it with a single button press. Set your session level for normal training work. Set your Jump level higher for moments when a harder, faster correction is needed. When the situation calls for it, you key Jump and the collar delivers that pre-set level immediately — no fumbling with the dial at the moment timing matters most. The Jump level is established before the session, not adjusted in the field under pressure.

Rise stimulation works differently: hold the Rise button and stimulation increases continuously from your current working level until you release. The dog’s first perceptible response tells you where to stop. This removes the guesswork from establishing a working level on a dog you haven’t trained before — instead of estimating from a chart or testing dial positions one at a time, you let the dog’s reaction show you where the level is. It’s the most accurate method for finding a new dog’s threshold and one of the genuinely useful innovations DT Systems has brought to the professional category. Vibration Assist and Vibration + Stimulation (V+S) round out the mode set alongside standard Nick and Continuous.

Internal antenna, waterproof construction, and field-ready design

The receiver uses DT Systems’ patented MAXX-Range internal collar antenna system — no external stub to break or snag in cover. Both collar and transmitter are fully waterproof with rechargeable NiMH batteries in each unit. The backlit LCD screen on the transmitter displays current intensity level (0–50), stimulation type in use, and a battery life indicator, so you always know exactly what the collar is set to without counting dial clicks. A built-in safety shut-off prevents continuous stimulation beyond a set duration. The transmitter is lightweight and compact despite the range and feature set, and the low-profile collar receiver sits comfortably on a working dog without interfering with movement.

The SPT 2420 ships as a 1-dog system and expands to 2 dogs with the addition of a DT Systems H2O 1800 Plus add-on collar. The SPT 2422 is the factory 2-dog version of the same system.

SPT 2420 vs. SPT 2430: The SPT 2430 adds an Upland Beeper with Locate, Run & Point, and Point Only modes audible from 450 yards — everything the 2420 does, plus beeper functionality built in. If you’re running pointing dogs and want locate and point-mode audio alongside training control from a single unit, the 2430 is the complete system. The 2420 is the right call when you don’t need the beeper.
