The industry’s largest OLED display, half-mile range, 3-dog capable — the SportTrainer platform built for multi-dog hunting situations
The SportTrainer 875 occupies a specific and useful position in the SportDOG lineup: it has the same OLED screen platform as the broader SportTrainer family, ½-mile range for close to mid-distance hunting work, and 3-dog capability — all in a collar that shares Add-A-Dog compatibility with the 425X and 825X. The large OLED display shows selected dog, stimulation level, mode, and battery status at a glance, without needing to tilt the remote or squint. SportDOG describes it as the industry’s largest OLED display, and it’s designed to remain readable in both low-light early morning conditions and full midday sun. Large +/− buttons let you toggle between dogs and stimulation levels with thick gloves on, without looking down.
The SD-875 runs 10 stimulation levels across a low and medium range — if level 1 is too strong for a soft dog or level 10 isn’t enough for a high-drive dog, the range is adjustable on the collar via the operation manual. Button functions are also customizable across 8 programmable modes, giving you access to rising static stimulation, a Boost +2 function (two levels above whatever is displayed — useful as an emergency recall button), tone-only or vibration-only operation, and compatibility with SportDOG’s UplandHunter Beeper Locator and remote launchers. The remote ships locked in single-dog mode; multi-dog operation must be unlocked via the operation manual before adding a second or third collar.
Both transmitter and collar are DryTek waterproof and submersible to 25 feet. Batteries are lithium-ion, charge in 2 hours, and last 50–70 hours per charge with low-battery indicators on both units. The add-on collar is the SDR-AXF, which is the same collar used by the FieldTrainer 425X and SportHunter 825X. Multiple compatible AX-series collars are also supported for specific use cases — see the manufacturer’s compatibility list for SDR-AX, SDR-AXS, SDR-AXW, SDR-AH, SDR-AB, and SDR-AXC. Available in Orange and Black.
If you need more range or more dogs, the SportTrainer 1275 extends to ¾ mile with 6-dog capability on the same OLED platform.
