I'm researched so many different training collars and I am very happy that I decided to go with the RAPT 1400 Rapid Access Pro Trainer. It is very easy to setup, and "rapid access" is an excellent way to describe this product, which is a credit to the superb design of the handheld transmitter. I think the programmable rapid access buttons and the jump button feature are SO helpful for quick corrections and are my favorite features. I purchased this training collar for the safety of my 4 year old black lab named Frosty. Frosty is a pheasant hunter with no formal training other than basic obedience we taught her at home; additionally, she is a beloved friend and family pet. Most days she is a very calm, obedient dog with a healthy energy level; however, The during the rare combination of her being super focused on something and becoming almost hyperactive, she doesn't always obey commands on the first, second or even on the third time. I want nothing more than for Frosty to enjoy her time off the leash in our front or backyard at home or in the field, but for her to enjoy that time also means I need to help keep her safe and out of harms way. This training collar has been very helpful in improving her response time to commands and deterring negative behaviors. I am not a professional or experienced dog trainer so I can't speak to that level, but I highly recommend this training collar in general and especially to dog owners like me that has only had minimal experience with training collars in the past but wants a collar he or she can grow into, if you will. Currently, I don't have a use for every function on the transmitter, but after using this training collar for the last month I have no doubt I will incorporate this it in the training of any additional dogs we add to the family.
