Aircraft-grade aluminum crate for large breeds — lighter than steel, built to last a lifetime
The Zinger 5000 Deluxe is built for large, broad-chested breeds that need more lateral room than the 4500 provides. The 28” width accommodates dogs like Boxers, Akitas, Huskies, Dogo Argentinos, and Black Russian Terriers — breeds that are big through the chest and shoulder. At approximately 47–49 lbs. this crate is at the upper limit of what one person can comfortably load solo. Two people are recommended for vehicle loading at this size, and the optional HD carry handles make the job significantly easier.
Built from aircraft-grade aluminum — one third the weight of steel at comparable strength — with construction that does not wear out or need replacing. When sizing, add a comfort buffer above your dog’s actual standing height. The dog should be able to stand fully upright, turn around, and lie flat without being cramped.
The Deluxe series is Zinger’s lightest line and is designed for owners who move their crate regularly. For dogs that have a proven history of escaping or destroying crates, the Professional 5000 is available with a reinforced door, secondary lock, and spring-loaded handles.
What sets it apart
Ventilation. Three rows of vent holes run along the top and bottom of all non-door and non-barred sides. Aluminum dissipates heat faster than plastic or steel, and the open door design combined with the vent holes allows air to move freely through the crate. At this size and weight, proper ventilation is especially important for large dogs in warm conditions.
Silver Hammertone powder coat. Applied inside and out at high temperature so it won’t chip or wear off. The interior coating matters — bare aluminum oxidizes over time and the residue transfers to your dog’s coat, leaving a grey discoloration. The interior powder coat prevents this entirely.
Lockable slam latch. Each door has a flush-mounted keyed latch. The crate can be locked when you’re away from it. The door is fully reversible — it can be configured to open left or right depending on how you load the vehicle or set up the crate.
Modular design. All Zinger crates in the same series can be stacked or coupled side by side. If you run multiple dogs, the crates connect to form a stable bank without additional hardware.
Airline travel at this size. The 5000 with the optional Airline Travel Kit meets IATA requirements and exceeds the strength and ventilation standards of most airlines. If you ship a large dog by air, aluminum construction is significantly more protective than plastic — it will not crack, deform, or be forced open by shifting cargo loads.

This is the 2nd crate I purchased as I have 2 dogs and needed the first crate for my houdini dog, but loved the crate so much I purchased another for my 2nd dog ( who did not need a special crate like this). I want to say that the service from Sporting Dog Pro is exceptional. I am from the northeast and it is hard to order things online (from a location hundreds of miles away) and HOPE there are no problems, and if there are.... HOPE that the place you purchase from has good customer service. Well i can tell you, the customer service is excellent which is why I purchased the 2nd crate with them as well.
