Remote Wingers and Bird Launchers for Retriever and Upland Training

  1. Zinger Winger II G4
    $379.99

The most popular all-around Zinger Winger for solo retriever trainers. Lighter and more compact than the Field Trialer at 13.5 lbs., it throws a duck 60 feet and a bumper 105 feet with a high, honest arc that gives your dog time to mark the fall. Sure-Shot release fires a 209 primer the instant the mark launches — no delay, no guessing, the dog marks to the gun. Heavy-duty hinges, upgraded wire harness, Rolling Release pouch bolt for a smooth launch every time. Remote-ready for Dogtra or Tri-Tronics electronics. If you only own one Zinger Winger, this is the one most trainers reach for...

  2. Zinger Winger Hunt Tester G5
    $499.99

The biggest throw in the Zinger Winger lineup — 120 feet on a duck, 180 feet on a bumper, with an arc that makes your steadiest dog work hard to hold. This is the launcher you reach for when you're training for serious hunt test or field trial marks, or when your dog has outgrown everything else. Multi-Shot Sound release fires 209, .22, or .32 blanks — the .32 is comparable to a 12-gauge shot and is the go-to for field trial-style marks. Three anchor hook settings for adjustable height and distance. Heavy-duty rubber tubing and hinges built for high-volume use. At 18 lbs. and 79 inches folded, it's the largest unit on the page — bring a truck, bring a dog that's ready for it...

  3. Zinger Winger Mini-Z G4
    $389.99

The most compact Zinger Winger in the lineup at 12 lbs. and 49 inches folded — fits along the back seat of most SUVs and cars where the larger models won't. Throws a duck 45 feet and a bumper 90 feet, making it ideal for young dogs building marking confidence at shorter distances, or trainers who need something they can carry into the field solo without breaking their back. Fires .22, .32, and 209 primer blanks. Remote-ready for Dogtra or Garmin Tri-Tronics electronics. The launcher most trainers recommend for getting started, and the one that travels easiest...

  4. Zinger Winger Field Trialer G4
    $419.99

The original Zinger Winger — the model that launched the company and has been running hunt tests and field trials for decades. At 15 lbs. and 75-foot duck throw, it sits right between the Winger II and the Hunt Tester in terms of power and size: compact enough to carry and transport easily, powerful enough to produce serious marks. Multi-Shot Sound release fires 209, .22, and .32 blanks. Multiple height and distance settings. Rolling Release pouch bolt for a smooth, consistent launch. Remote-ready for Dogtra or Tri-Tronics. This is the launcher retriever club training groups run when they need consistent, repeatable marks for 30–45 dogs in a session...

  5. Zinger Winger Uplander G4 Bird Launcher
    $324.99

    Out of stock

Built for upland flush simulation, not retriever marks. The Uplander's 4-spring system launches from a compact 8" x 16" x 16" base — low to the ground, designed to simulate a bird flushing out of cover rather than arcing high through the air. Trigger it remotely as your dog works into range and you have the most realistic sit-to-flush drill available outside of a live bird. At 8 lbs. it's the lightest unit on the page. Throws a bumper 60 feet, a duck 30 feet. 209 primer blank. Remote-ready for Dogtra or Tri-Tronics. Currently out of stock — check back or contact us...

Why Serious Bird Dog Trainers Use Zinger Wingers

A retrieving dummy thrown by hand teaches a dog to fetch. A Zinger Winger launched from cover at 120 feet, triggered remotely while you're standing at heel behind your dog — that teaches a dog to hunt. The difference matters, and it's why Zinger Winger has been the standard tool in serious gun dog training for 30 years. More champion retrievers have been trained on Zinger Winger remote launchers than on any other winger on the market — not because of marketing, but because trainers who use them don't go back to anything else.

Every Zinger Winger on this page is spring-powered and built in Canada using heavy-duty components that hold up to year-round outdoor use. The spring system is adjustable — dial back the throw for a young dog learning to mark short, build to full distance as the dog develops. All models support optional electronic remote release systems compatible with Dogtra and Garmin (Tri-Tronics) remotes, so if you already run a compatible collar system you can trigger the launcher from the line without a second person in the field. That's the real value proposition: consistent, honest marks, by yourself, on your own schedule.

Built to Last a Lifetime.

Zinger Winger has been manufacturing launchers and sporting dog gear since 1995. Every unit is made with heavy-duty hinges, upgraded wire harnesses, and the Rolling Release™ pouch bolt — a design detail that eliminates the hangups, misfires, and metal wear that plagued earlier winger designs from Zinger and everyone else. Owners routinely report running the same launchers for 5–10 seasons, 5–6 days a week, exposed to weather on a dog truck, without mechanical failure. The rubber tubing is considered a wear item and is simple to replace; the rest of the unit is built to outlast the dog it's training.

The exclusive Sure-Shot and Multi-Shot Sound™ release mechanisms fire the blank at the exact moment of launch — not before, not after — so the dog marks to the gun the same way it would mark a real bird shot in flight. This is the detail that separates Zinger Wingers from cheaper alternatives, and it's the reason professional trainers running 30–45 dogs at a club session trust Zinger launchers to perform consistently, set after set.

Note: Zinger Winger launchers are serious training tools. Safe loading practice and awareness of the firing mechanism is required — these are not beginner-operated equipment. If you're new to wingers, the Winger II G4 is the best starting point, and Zinger's instruction resources will get you up to speed quickly.

Training With a Zinger Winger — What It Actually Does for Your Dog

The most common limitation for retriever training alone is the inability to throw a mark while keeping the dog steady at heel. A Zinger Winger solves that entirely. You set the launcher in cover, position your dog, and trigger the throw remotely — the dog sees a full arc mark from a stationary position with a gun report, exactly as it would in a hunt test or field trial. No helper required. The training scenario you're replicating is real.

The blank charge is what separates a Zinger Winger from a silent launcher. The shot fires at the moment of release — the dog marks to the gun the same way it marks a real bird shot in flight. This conditions gun-awareness and marking simultaneously, and it's why dogs trained on Zinger Wingers tend to mark more confidently at distance. If you run the .32 blank, the report is close to a 12-gauge shot — the kind of stimulus a field trial dog needs to work at serious distance.

For upland work, the Uplander G4's low-profile flush simulation is in a different category entirely. The dog works cover, you trigger the launcher remotely, the bird flushes with a shot — and the dog either holds steady or it doesn't. There's no more honest test of steadiness in a controlled training environment.

Remote Release — How It Works

All Zinger Winger models can be equipped with optional electronic release systems that integrate with Dogtra and Garmin (Tri-Tronics) collar transmitters. If you already own a compatible e-collar system, your collar remote becomes the trigger for the launcher — one hand, one device. The release fires the launcher at distance from the line, giving you full control of the training scenario without a second person and without moving from your dog's position.

All models can also be operated manually with the pull cord — no electronics required to get started.

Shipping & Processing

Zinger Winger launchers ship via specialty oversized freight once per week, factory direct. Expedited shipping is available but begins from the ship date, not the order date.
