Finding the right replacement antenna for your SportDOG system
SportDOG transmitter antennas are model-specific — the SD-1875 uses a different antenna than the older 1825, 1225, and 3225 series. The guide below gets you to the right one in one step.

When to replace your transmitter antenna
The transmitter antenna is the single component most responsible for your system’s operating range. A bent, kinked, or broken antenna can cut your effective range dramatically even when everything else is working correctly. Replace the antenna when you notice any of the following:
Visible damage. A bent, kinked, or cracked antenna will not transmit at full efficiency. Even a minor bend near the base where the antenna meets the transmitter body can significantly reduce range.
Range shorter than expected. If your system was reliably reaching its rated range and has gradually or suddenly lost distance, and the collar and transmitter are both charged, the antenna is the first thing to check. A damaged antenna is far more common than a failed transmitter circuit.
Antenna is loose or wobbles. Antennas thread directly onto the transmitter. A loose connection causes intermittent signal loss. If the antenna doesn’t tighten securely, the threads may be stripped — replace the antenna before the issue gets worse in the field.
Both antennas on this page are genuine SportDOG replacement parts and install without tools — unscrew the old antenna, thread the new one on finger-tight.
