D.T. Systems has been building electronic training collars and hunting dog gear since 1983 — longer than most of their competitors have existed. Based in Dallas, Texas, DT built their reputation among serious upland hunters and working dog trainers who push gear hard and care more about whether it works in the field than whether it photographs well in a catalog. The result is a lineup that covers everything from entry-level family dog trainers to 3-mile professional systems, all built to the same standard: rugged, reliable, and priced fairly.

Finding the right DT Systems product

DT’s collar lineup divides into three families. Knowing which one fits your situation makes the rest straightforward.

R.A.P.T. Series (hand-mount transmitter). The transmitter straps to the back of your hand so controls stay accessible whether you’re holding a gun, a call, or a bird. The R.A.P.T. 1400 covers the majority of upland and field hunting situations — ¾-mile range, 3-dog capable, Nick/Continuous/Vibration/Jump stimulation. The R.A.P.T. 1400 Camo is the same system in DT’s CoverUp pattern for waterfowl hunters. The R.A.P.T. 1450 adds a built-in beeper with Run/Point, Point Only, and Locate modes audible to 400+ yards.

H2O PLUS Series (fully waterproof). Submersible receivers and floating transmitters built for wet conditions. The H2O 1820 PLUS covers most training and hunting needs at 1-mile range with Nick/Continuous/Vibration stimulation, expandable to 3 dogs. The H2O 1820 PLUS CoverUp adds the camo pattern and is aimed squarely at waterfowlers. The H2O 1850 PLUS adds a built-in beeper collar for upland work.

Super Pro Series (professional range). Three miles of range and 50 stimulation levels for trainers and handlers running high-drive dogs at significant distances. The SPT 2420 handles one dog; the SPT 2422 handles two. The SPT 2430 adds a beeper audible to 450 yards; the SPT 2432 is that same system as a 2-dog package.

Bird Launchers and Dummy Launchers

DT makes two categories of training hardware beyond collars. The Super Pro Dummy Launcher Kit is a hand-held, .22-caliber blank-powered launcher that lets one person run a full retriever marking session without a helper. Patented dual firing ports reduce recoil compared to single-port designs; a built-in shell extractor clears spent blanks in one step. Power loads are sold separately in green (40–60 yds), yellow (60–80 yds), and red (80–100 yds).

For pointing breed work, the Natural Flush Small Bird Launcher handles quail and pigeon-sized birds; the Natural Flush Large Bird Launcher is built for pheasant and duck-sized birds. Both complete systems include the launcher, transmitter, and receiver. One transmitter controls up to 16 launchers — add BL505 or BL705 add-on units to expand without buying additional remotes.

Add-on collar compatibility

Every DT Systems collar-based product has a matching add-on receiver so you can expand to multiple dogs without buying a second transmitter. Add-on collars are system-specific — the RAPT 1400 add-on will not pair with the H2O 1820, for example. Here’s the correct match for each system:
