Built for the flush, not the mark — the only Zinger Winger designed specifically for upland and sit-to-flush training
The Uplander is a fundamentally different piece of equipment from the rest of the Zinger Winger lineup. Where the Field Trialer, Hunt Tester, Winger II, and Mini-Z all throw a high arc mark that a dog tracks through the air and retrieves, the Uplander launches a bird up and out of cover the way a real pheasant, quail, or duck busts from the grass. The 4-spring design and low-profile 8 lb. frame sit close to the ground — this is a flush simulator, not a mark thrower, and the training scenario it enables is one of the most valuable in upland and waterfowl work. As one SDP customer put it: "Love the Uplander — it is so versatile for remote flushing or marked retrieves with live game, cold game or bumper."
The training setup is straightforward and honest: you plant the launcher in cover, position your dog, work it in, and trigger the flush remotely. The bird launches with a shot, and your dog either holds or it doesn't. No bird boy, no planted bird, no second person. You control the scenario completely and can repeat it as many times as you need. For live bird work, two of the four springs can be removed for a gentler throw that won't injure the bird. The Uplander handles ducks, pheasants, quail, pigeons, Dokkens, and bumpers — anything that fits the pouch.
The Sure-Shot Sound™ mechanism fires a 209 primer at the moment of release. Silent launch is available when needed. Max throws are modest by Zinger standards — this is about the flush angle and timing, not distance. The Uplander weighs 8 lbs. and measures 16" × 16" × 8" with arms extended, making it the most compact unit in the lineup by a significant margin.
Remote-ready for Dogtra and Garmin (Tri-Tronics) electronics. Add the Dogtra RR Deluxe or Garmin PRO Control 2 at checkout. Note that the adhesive Velcro mount for the electronics receiver can loosen with heavy use — consider a more secure attachment method for high-volume training sessions.
