The original Zinger Winger — 20+ years running hunt tests and field trials, and still one of the most popular models in the lineup
The Field Trialer is the launcher that built the Zinger Winger reputation. It's been the go-to model for retriever club training groups, hunt test handlers, and field trialers for over two decades — not because it's the newest, but because it does exactly what a serious trainer needs. At 15 lbs. and a 75-foot duck throw, it sits in the sweet spot of the lineup: powerful enough to produce honest marks at real hunt test distances, compact enough to carry into the field and set up solo. One SDP customer called it "invaluable when training for water retrieves and double marks." Another, who received one as a gift for her trainer, noted that "he has several of this style — easy to load, shoots birds a good distance, and takes a minimal amount of time to set up and tear down." That pattern of repeat ownership and professional use tells you what the Field Trialer is.
The G4 features heavy-duty hinges, an upgraded wire harness, and the exclusive Multi-Shot Sound™ servo-actuated release mechanism. The blank fires at the exact instant the mark launches — not before, not after — so the dog marks to the gun simultaneously with the bird leaving the pouch, exactly as it would mark a real shot bird in the field. The mechanism accepts .22, .32, and 209 primer blanks. The .32 blank produces a report comparable to a 12-gauge shot, which is the standard for field trial-distance marks where the dog needs to hear the gun clearly at range. Silent launch is available when you need it. The Rolling Release™ pouch bolt comes standard and eliminates the hangups and misfires that plagued earlier eyebolt designs. No maintenance required.
Multiple anchor hook settings let you adjust the height and distance of the throw without swapping parts. Fold it flat to 1½" × 25" × 65" for transport — it needs a truck bed or cargo area, but sets up and tears down quickly. The Field Trialer launches ducks, pheasants, pigeons, Dokken DeadFowl Trainers, bumpers, and live flyers. An optional carrying case is available. If you need more distance, the Hunt Tester G5 steps up to 120 feet on a duck. If storage and transport are the priority, the Winger II G4 is a lighter, more compact option at 60-foot duck throws.
Remote-ready for Dogtra and Garmin (Tri-Tronics) electronics. Add the Dogtra RR Deluxe or Garmin PRO Control 2 at checkout — full electronics system or receiver only — and trigger the launcher from the line with your existing transmitter.

I really like the Zinger Winger. At no fault of Sporting Dog Pro it took an extremely long time to receive the winger direct from Zinger. Otherwise it would have been a 5 star review. (11/1/2022)- FlawlessBy:Matthew MacKenzie
This is my first winger and it does not disappoint. Very well built. Nice high ark and throws where you point it! (12/26/2017)- Excellent By:Collin Ferguson
Great training tool (9/26/2017)- Great wingerBy:Karen Edwards
Powerful throw. Not too hard to set even for teenagers and smallish women. Fold up neatly and do't take much space. Rubber disintegrates in heat but is easy to replace. Our club uses them for our hunt tests and other events, we are gradually replacing our old wingers with these. Hope someday to get some electronics. This was a gift for my trainer. He has several of this style and it is easy to load, shoots birds a good distance, and takes a minimal amount of time to set up/ tear down. (10/26/2015)- 5 starsBy:john warnest
very well thought out, good tool for training. would be nice if it was 3 inches shorter so it would fit in a standard 60 inch pickup tool box (10/1/2015)
