Plastic crates crack. Wire crates bend. Dogs that are determined to get out of either one usually succeed. The Zinger 3000 Deluxe is built from aircraft-grade aluminum — the same material used in the Deluxe line across all Zinger sizes — which delivers strength comparable to steel at roughly one third the weight. One person can move it without help. The powder coat finish, stainless steel hardware, and welded door construction are not features that wear out or need replacing. This is a crate you buy once.

The 3000 size — 21”W × 24”H × 30”L — is designed for smaller breeds. Australian Shepherds, Beagles, and Collies are the size reference from Zinger directly. When sizing, add a comfort buffer above your dog’s actual standing height — the dog should be able to stand, turn around, and lie down without being cramped. At 28 lbs. the crate is light enough to load and unload from a vehicle without assistance.

The Deluxe series is Zinger’s lightest and most accessible line. It is not their escape-proof line — that’s the Professional and Heavy Duty series. For dogs that are destructive or have a history of breaking out of crates, step up to the Professional. For dogs that simply need a secure, well-ventilated, properly built crate for travel, the truck, or home use, the Deluxe is the right choice.

What sets it apart

Ventilation. Three rows of vent holes run along the top and bottom of all non-door and non-barred sides. Aluminum dissipates heat faster than plastic or steel, and the open door design combined with the vent holes allows air to move freely through the crate. This matters in a vehicle in warm weather — a well-ventilated aluminum crate runs cooler than a plastic one in the same conditions.

Silver Hammertone powder coat. Applied inside and out at high temperature so it won’t chip or wear off. The interior coating matters — bare aluminum oxidizes over time and the residue transfers to your dog’s coat, leaving a grey discoloration. The interior powder coat prevents this entirely.

Lockable slam latch. Each door has a flush-mounted keyed latch. The crate can be locked when you’re away from it. The door is fully reversible — it can be configured to open left or right depending on how you load the vehicle or set up the crate.

Modular design. All Zinger crates in the same series can be stacked or coupled side by side. If you add a second dog or need a two-crate setup in the truck, the crates connect to form a stable bank without additional hardware.

Airline travel. The 3000 Deluxe can be configured for air travel with the optional Airline Travel Kit (rails, handles, bowls, and labels — available as an add-on at checkout). Zinger crates exceed the strength and ventilation requirements of most airlines. If you ship dogs by air, the aluminum construction will not crack or deform under cargo handling the way plastic crates can.
