The PRO 550 — 21 levels, vibration, and beeper-ready for the serious professional trainer
The PRO 550 is the collar most professional trainers land on when they want the full Tri-Tronics interface without GPS. Twenty-one stimulation levels — seven dial positions each with Low, Medium, and High settings — give you the precision to find a working level for almost any dog in a string without jumping between too soft and too strong. Vibration adds a non-stimulating pager option. Tone has its own dedicated button, separate from the stimulation dial, so you can deliver a mark without adjusting level or changing modes mid-session. The PRO 550 also accepts the Garmin Upland™ Beeper accessory, making it the natural choice for pointing dog trainers who want locate and point mode alongside e-collar control from a single unit.

Classic, Rugged Design
The PRO 550 uses the tube-shaped handheld that trainers have relied on for decades. The stimulation and vibration selection dial sits at the top of the transmitter where your thumb finds it without looking. Tone, beacon lights, and the accessory beeper are controlled using the switch and buttons on the face of the unit, which line up naturally in the hand for fingertip operation. A fixed 2½-inch transmitter antenna eliminates the risk of a broken or lost antenna while delivering 1-mile range. Switching between dogs is a single toggle movement — the color-coded buttons on the face correspond to each dog’s collar strap color so you always know which dog you’re keying. The entire system is designed so you never have to break eye contact with the dogs you’re working.
Train with Stimulation and Tone
Choose from 21 levels of continuous and momentary stimulation, tone, and vibration for up to 3 dogs at a time (additional dog devices required; purchased separately). The 21 levels are structured as 7 dial positions with Low, Medium, and High at each position — giving you fine control across the full stimulation range without a complicated interface. You can also remotely operate the LED beacon lights built into each dog device, and an accessory beeper (purchased separately), to help locate your dog in low-light conditions.
Built-in BarkLimiter
The PRO 550 features a built-in BarkLimiter, activated by the dog device. BarkLimiter uses AutoRise technology, which automatically finds and adjusts correction to the level needed to stop unwanted barking — no manual calibration per dog required. It’s useful for kennels and holding situations where you want to manage noise without active intervention between sessions.
Tough, Water-resistant, Long-lasting

Both the transmitter and the dog device collar are designed to withstand the blows, bumps, and sloppy conditions of daily training and hunting. The dog device comes with 2 sizes of removable, stainless, insulated contact points for reliable performance in wet conditions and extended comfort for the dog. The dog device is water-rated to 1 ATM (10 meters). The PRO 550 transmitter is water-rated to IPX7 and floats. Both units feature long-lasting rechargeable lithium-ion batteries with a battery life indicator so you know when to recharge. Approximately 80 hours on the handheld, 60 hours on the dog device — enough to cover extended multi-session training days without a mid-day charge stop.
Collar Pairing
The color-coded dog selection switch on the PRO 550 handheld determines which dog receives correction. Pairing each dog’s collar strap color to the corresponding selection switch color eliminates confusion when you’re running multiple dogs in the same session. Additional ¾” polyurethane-coated accessory collar straps are sold separately. The PRO 550 expands to 3 dogs with additional PT 10 collars; if you need GPS tracking added to this system, the PRO 550 Plus pairs the same interface with a TT15X tracking collar and extends range to over 2 miles.
PRO 550 vs. PRO 550 Plus: The standard PRO 550 is a training-only system with 1-mile range. The PRO 550 Plus adds GPS tracking via a TT15X collar, extends training range to over 2 miles, and adds an onboard display showing direction and distance to each dog. If you board dogs, run large properties, or want train-and-track in one unit, the Plus is worth the step up. If you train in a controlled environment with eyes on the dogs, the standard 550 is the better value.

- Works GreatBy:Allison Brigham
We have farm animals and use these as training tools when diversion can’t stop the prey drive. We utilize it on the lowest level needed but on some of our animals we had to use a higher setting a couple of times. Once their attention has been diverted, we will then reinforce with tone & or vibration if the attention seems to go back that way. That is a very short synopsis, but this is a very good training tool when used properly. I have purchased one additional collar and about to buy a second one. Have had numerous training collars in the past but none that I liked better than the Pro 550. Works excellent on my Labs and will be ordering additional collars in the near future. (5/18/2017)
