The full-featured WetlandHunter platform, wrapped in camo for the blind and the marsh
The WetlandHunter® 1825X is SportDOG’s full-featured 1-mile collar in Realtree MAX-5® camo. The camo finish runs across both the transmitter and the collar receiver, keeping both pieces low-profile in the marsh and the blind. Everything else is the SportHunter 1825X platform: 21 stimulation levels on a dial-and-button remote you can operate entirely by feel, 14 programmable transmitter modes, 6-dog expandability, and the ability to control remote beepers and bird launchers from the same transmitter. It’s the same system professional trainers use in the field and the same system waterfowl hunters use from the blind.
A transmitter built to run by feel, with enough modes to handle any dog or situation
The dial runs 1–7 with Low, Medium, and High at each position — 21 distinct levels accessible without looking at the transmitter. Roll the dial all the way up to reach Tone or Vibrate, then feel the clicks down through each static level as you dial back. In a blind with gloves on or in the dark during a morning teal hunt, that no-look operation is the difference between a clean correction and a fumble at the wrong moment. The 10-second auto-timeout on Continuous prevents over-stimulation: after 10 seconds the button must be released and re-pressed before stimulation continues.
The 14 preset transmitter modes let you customize what each button does. Default factory settings cover most hunters out of the box, but if you run remote beepers or SportDOG launchers, the 1825X transmitter can be programmed to control them from the same unit. The side button activates the remote beeper locate function when paired with a compatible beeper; the same button activates the launcher basket when paired with a launcher receiver. Both are set up through simple pairing steps in the operating guide — no tools required.
Built for a season of hard use in the water and the weather
The system ships as a 1-dog unit and expands to 6 dogs with SDR-AXW Add-A-Dog® collars. The toggle switch on the transmitter handles dog switching. Both transmitter and receiver are waterproof and submersible to 25 feet using DryTek® technology — a design that’s been field-tested hard by duck hunters who’ve dropped the transmitter overboard, pulled it out, and kept hunting. Collar receiver fits dogs 8 lbs. and up with neck sizes 5”–22” and uses a slim-profile, soft-coat housing that sits close to the neck without bulk.
Battery performance is a genuine advantage on the 1825X: the transmitter runs 40–60 hours per charge, while the collar receiver runs 140–160 hours — long enough that most hunters charge it at the start of the season and barely think about it again. Both charge in 2 hours via the included cradle. Low battery indicators on both units show status before you hit the field.
WetlandHunter 1825X vs. WetlandHunter 425X: The 425X is SportDOG’s lightest and most compact camo collar, designed for close-working dogs at 500 yards. The 1825X doubles the range to 1 mile, expands to 6 dogs, adds 14 programmable transmitter modes, and supports launcher and beeper integration. For a retriever that ranges well or a trainer who runs multiple dogs, the 1825X is the right system. For a single close-working dog or a new e-collar user, the 425X covers the job.

- Made My Energetic Lab a Different Dog!By:Stephanie Buncich
I have a 2 year old spirited, energetic black lab who sometimes chose not to listen when we were playing off leash outside. I ordered this collar after a few recommendations from my friends, and I couldn't have asked for a better product. My dog is extremely obedient now after only a few hours of using it to enforce commands. Thank you! (1/11/2017)- Best trainer I've ever owned.By:Ben Norris
I bought this device last summer to train my labrador retriever to fetch ducks at Lake Mattamuskeet in North Carolina, and I couldn't have gotten better results with my dog. She's quick and responsive and has never come back empty handed. I even dropped my receiver in the lake, and after fishing it out, it still worked perfectly. I highly recommend this collar to all water fowlers. (5/8/2014)- What a godsend!By:Lester Smith
I'm not a dog training professional and have had a couple dogs in the past but never really trained them. Then I picked up a high energy springer/pointer mix to use for hunting. She's a stubborn dog, but after using this collar for about 9 months now I am completely confident every time that no matter what my dog will come back. (5/8/2014)
