Bark control with vibration only — no static correction
Most bark collars use static correction. This one doesn’t. The PetSafe Vibration Bark Control Collar interrupts barking with vibration only — making it the gentlest option on this page and the right starting point for sensitive dogs, small dogs, or any owner who isn’t comfortable using static correction.
A sound-activated sensor detects your dog’s bark and triggers one of 10 random-duration vibration patterns delivered through two vibration points on the collar. The randomized duration prevents the dog from habituating to a predictable correction pattern — a consistent pattern can be tuned out; a random one is harder to ignore. The collar does not escalate and does not use static at any level.
The collar has an on/off switch to preserve battery life when not in use, and a three-color LED indicator for battery status and test mode. Durable and waterproof construction. Adjustable strap fits neck sizes up to 28 inches. For dogs 8 lbs. and up.
Is vibration-only right for your dog? Vibration correction works well for dogs that are moderately bark-motivated and respond to physical interruption. For very determined barkers that don’t respond to vibration alone, the Elite Big Dog or Elite Little Dog rechargeable bark collars use progressive static correction and tend to be more effective on persistent barkers. I have a 10lb Maltese who barks every time he goes outside! I have tried several other Bark collars and none of them make him stop barking, including this collar. It has no impact on his incessant barking! I have tried other devices with no success. Also this bark unit, although convenient to use, is rather heavy & bulky for a small dog to wear. (1/30/2024)
