The T5X is Garmin’s GPS tracking collar for hunters who already have a training collar on the dog and just need position data. It gives you a 9-mile tracking range with updates as frequent as 2.5 seconds on a compatible handheld, plus remote-activated LED beacon lights. The T5X does not send or receive training stimulation — it’s tracking only.

Track only — no e-collar capability: The T5X transmits GPS location to your handheld but does not support stimulation, tone, or vibration. If you want GPS tracking and e-collar training in one collar, look at the TT 25 instead. The T5X is the right choice when you’re running a dog that already wears a separate training collar and you just need to know where it is.

Compatible with all existing Alpha series handhelds (Alpha 10, 100, 200, 200i, 300, 300i), PRO 550 Plus, and Astro 430. If you’re expanding an existing Garmin setup, your current handheld works with it. The T5X features a top-mounted GPS and GLONASS receiver for improved satellite acquisition — useful in terrain where lower-mounted antennas can struggle.

Battery life is rated up to 80 hours, with a sleep mode you can trigger remotely from a compatible Alpha handheld to extend runtime further when the dog is on a break. The unit is water-resistant to 1 ATM (10 meters) and updates automatically via Garmin Express software when connected to a computer. Two antenna options are included — a standard 18.5” antenna and an extended 22.5” antenna for areas where you need extra range.
