The H2O 1850 PLUS is DT Systems’ upland beeper trainer for hunters who want a solid, reliable system without the complexity of multi-mode stimulation menus or high-end professional features. One-mile range, 16 stimulation levels, a beeper audible to 450 yards in three modes, and a floating waterproof transmitter. Both collar and transmitter run rechargeable NiMH batteries. Everything is controlled from the transmitter — stimulation level, beeper mode, and locate. It’s the kind of system you pick up and understand in a few minutes, take to the field the next morning, and trust to work the season after that.

The beeper is fixed to the collar in a downward-facing position, which keeps it from shifting around the strap and away from the dog’s ears during hard field work. The MAXX-Range 360 antenna is woven directly into the collar belt along its full length — not housed in the receiver box — giving the system consistent FM signal reception across terrain that would degrade a standard internal antenna. The transmitter has a no-slip soft-grip rubber coating and floats if it goes into the water.

Beeper modes and stimulation

The beeper runs three modes selectable from the transmitter: Locate, Run & Point, and Point Only. In Run & Point mode the beeper sounds on a cadence while the dog is moving and shifts when the dog stops on point. Point Only holds the beeper silent while the dog runs and sounds only on point. Locate fires the beeper manually at any time from the transmitter — useful for hunting wild birds in silence without committing to a run mode, or for getting a quick fix on a dog that’s gone quiet in heavy cover.

Stimulation runs 16 levels of Nick and Continuous through DT Systems’ Gentle Touch™ system, which calibrates the low end to start mild and scale up gradually. This makes the H2O 1850 PLUS approachable for dogs that are new to e-collar training as well as reliable for more experienced dogs that need a clear correction at distance. A built-in safety shut-off prevents continuous stimulation beyond a set duration. The Smart LED indicator shows low battery status on both units so you know before you lose power in the field.

No vibration mode: The H2O 1850 PLUS does not include a vibration-only stimulation mode — it runs Nick and Continuous stimulation only alongside the beeper locate. If vibration is a requirement, the DT Systems R.A.P.T. 1450 includes Vibration Assist™ alongside its beeper system.

Fit, expandability, and warranty

The collar adjusts from 12” to 23” to fit most dog sizes, with the MAXX-Range antenna running the full length of the belt. DT Systems notes the beeper horn position can be adjusted by their service center for smaller-necked dogs if needed. The system expands to 2 dogs with the H2O 1850 Add-On Collar with Beeper; a factory 2-dog system is also available as the H2O 1852 PLUS 2-Dog. DT Systems backs the H2O 1850 PLUS with their Limited Lifetime Warranty, which upgrades to cover manufacturing defects for the life of the unit when a warranty card is registered within 30 days of purchase.
