Most underground fence systems warn with a beep. The Dogtra eF-3500 uses a High Performance Pager — a physical vibration from the collar itself — before any static correction. Dogs learn the boundary faster and more reliably when the warning is tactile rather than just audible, and it’s the same principle that makes Dogtra’s bark collars so effective. The pager fires first, giving your dog a clear, unmistakable signal before anything else happens. If he turns back, no correction. If he keeps going, it follows.

The eF-3500 brings that same build quality to underground containment — rechargeable collar with a 2-hour charge, fully waterproof receiver, advanced interference filtering, and up to 40 acres of coverage. How it works

Bury or lay the boundary wire around your yard’s perimeter and connect it to the wall-mounted transmitter. The transmitter sends a radio signal through the wire. As your dog approaches the boundary, the receiver collar detects that signal and delivers the vibration pager warning first. If your dog continues toward the wire, static correction follows at whatever level you’ve set on the collar. The included 500 feet of 20-gauge wire covers approximately 1/3 acre out of the box — purchase Dogtra expansion kits to extend up to 40 acres.

The transmitter’s Field Width adjustment knob controls how far from the wire the collar activates, so you can give a fast dog more warning distance or tighten the boundary on a smaller yard. The Boundary Wire Continuity Light stays illuminated as long as the wire loop is intact. If the wire is ever cut or disconnected, the light goes off and an audible alarm sounds on the transmitter — you know immediately something needs attention.

The receiver collar

The eF-3500 collar is compact at 2.7” x 1.6” x 1.93” and weighs just 2.5 oz. It’s fully waterproof and uses a rechargeable lithium polymer battery that charges in 2 hours — no disposable batteries to manage. A battery life indicator on the collar lets you know the charge status at a glance. Correction intensity is set on the collar itself with 8 adjustable levels, calibrated for mild-mannered to stubborn dogs. The collar also has a vibration-only mode with no static at all, which is ideal for the initial training phase or for sensitive dogs that respond to vibration alone.

Dogtra’s advanced filtering technology prevents the collar from responding to signals from neighboring fence systems or other outside interference — only your transmitter activates your collar. The 8-second automatic safety shutoff cuts the correction if your dog lingers at the boundary line.
