Choosing the Right Unit

The Hound Heater Deluxe (400W) is the right choice for most working dog owners. It heats up to 100 cubic feet — enough for a standard medium-to-large dog house — with a built-in thermostat that you set once and forget. Three settings correspond to target temperatures of 35°F (Low), 55°F (Medium), and 75°F (High). The heater cycles on and off automatically to maintain that temperature. It mounts permanently to the inside wall of the dog house, out of the dog's way, with a chew-proof cord. If you just need your dog warm in winter and you have a properly sized dog house, this is the unit.

The Heat-N-Breeze Deluxe is the year-round solution — a single unit that heats in winter and ventilates in summer. In heating mode it functions identically to the Hound Heater with a 150W element; in ventilation mode the thermostat cuts the heat and the fan circulates fresh outside air into the enclosure when temperatures climb. For dogs in climates with both hard winters and hot summers, or for any kennel situation where summer heat is as much a concern as winter cold, the Heat-N-Breeze covers both seasons with one install. It handles smaller enclosures up to 35 cubic feet.

The Hound Heater Classic (100W) is the budget option for small enclosures — cat houses, small breed dog houses, and utility buildings where you want basic warmth without the output of the Deluxe. No thermostat cycling, just consistent low-level heat in a small footprint.

Installation Overview

All Hound Heater units mount to any vertical interior wall of the dog house — never the ceiling. The Deluxe mounts 3 inches from the top of the wall. You drill a small hole for the cord to pass through to an outdoor-rated extension cord (18-gauge or heavier) plugged into a standard outdoor outlet. That's it.
